There’s a reason we’re still here and that’s because of you, our members, residents, and volunteers.

Our model has allowed us to weather many storms, build foundations for a long term home in Flux, and anchor a rich heritage of independent music, radio experimentations and sonic cultures right in the heart of the city.

The AGM is where you come in.

The station needs a team to oversee it each year. At the AGM you can run and vote for this team.

Or maybe you have an idea for the station? Or envision aspects of it being run differently?

This is your time to submit a motion. Discuss it with other DDR members. Debate it. Vote on it. Participate in making it happen.

The AGM is your space as a member. Without it we’d just be a glorified Spotify, steered by algorithms and not by our members.

Why attend the ddr. AGM?

ddr. is a member led organisation, so we need your input to help steer the station's direction for the coming year and beyond. We need our residents and members to engage with things like the AGM. After all ddr. is YOUR online radio station, so show up and get involved! It is also a really great chance to meet each other and get to know the other ddr. community members, share ideas, give feedback etc. You just need to come along on the day, join in on the discussions and vote on Motions and Steering Committee election. You can also submit your own motion for discussion and voting. And most importantly, come and hang out! You are all welcome.

What is a Motion?

Motions and discussion are ESSENTIAL to ddr. A motion is a submission made by a member for discussion and voting at the AGM. Motions are usually focused on changing something to do with how the station is run, our guiding principles, our commitments to our members, etc. If there is anything you'd like to see ddr. doing that we are not doing currently in terms of our organising, or something you'd like to see become an organisational principle or priority for the station, then you can submit a motion. Submissions will be collated and reviewed by the Steering Committee in advance of circulation to the members. If clarification is required further information may be requested. The Steering Committee

At each AGM, members also vote for the Steering Committee who oversee the running of the station. The work of the Steering Committee is very broad, but there are several important roles and responsibilities that are essential in ensuring that ddr. continues to operate on a day to day basis, as well as plan towards longer term strategic goals. The SC consists of six to twelve members chosen by election of the organisational membership at the AGM. Any member who has been in the organisation for at least 3 months can nominate themselves, whether they are a volunteer, supporter or resident. We would especially encourage those joining the Steering Committee to be currently volunteering with the station or have volunteered in the past so they have a good understanding of the running of the station.
