Black Lives Matter

Statement

"ddr. supports the Black Lives Matter protests in the United States and globally. At ddr. we stand in solidarity with all of those who oppose hate and oppression based on race, and stand against police brutality and the suppression of the press.

ddr. is a community run organization - we actively seek to broaden our community to include diverse voices regardless of race, gender, sexuality, ethnicity, economic advantage or any other difference - we believe in a community based on tolerance, difference and solidarity.

After some discussion with residents we decided the Music Industry Blackout was not the ideal way for the station to express its support to those expressing opposition to hate. Instead we will actively work towards improving representation at every level of the station and endeavour to work with groups working towards tackling racism and oppression in all its forms in Ireland and abroad. If we can help to make your voice heard please contact contact@dublindigitalradio.com

We are also committed to providing workshops on using the ddr. studio (including CDJs and turntables), media training, audio editing, podcast production, as well as up for discussion on any links we have with journalists and labels within the music industry for any underrepresented group that wants.

ddr. will never platform hate and is firmly anti-racist and anti-fascist. We are critical of other media organisations who give their platform to those who are not progressive/actively hateful.”
