This year ddr. turns 10 and the station will be celebrating with a weekend party from October 31st-November 1st featuring DJs, broadcasts, and workshops with further plans for activity throughout the year, marking 10 years of independent radio.

The station was initially established in 2016, operating from a small studio space in cultural venue Jigsaw, before moving to The Complex just before Covid-19 and eventually settling in their current home at FLUX Studios in Dublin.

Over the last decade, ddr. has provided a radical alternative to established media as a station supported by and for its community. ddr. has been a champion of experimental, leftfield music, supporting local scenes and creatives directly through events, programming, and volunteering opportunities.

The station is completely self-funded by member subscriptions and is a non-commercial operation which does not accept corporate sponsorships. ddr. is 100% volunteer run with no paid staff.

ddr. volunteer Laetitia Deering says: “We have a lineup that is really representative of the trajectory of the last 10 years. It’s going to a big reunion and a window into what ddr. has meant to people. There is something there for everybody and there will be more events to come, it will be a year of celebration.”

To kick things off, ddr. will be hosting a weekender event at their new home at community studio space FLUX Dublin. The lineup includes DJ’s, live performances, and a live ambient lounge:

The 10-year anniversary event will include a yard & gallery party featuring ddr.10 DJ’s, an open studio with rolling broadcasts, as well as live music and talks, a vinyl record fair, a creative print workshop and more to be announced.

ddr. are encouraging everyone who comes along to these events to join the station as a subscriber, supporting the culture and helping ddr. to sustain the sound as they move past the ten year mark.

Paid tickets are priced at €15 + booking fee with a substantial free programme across both days.
