Refugee Week on Air: Submit a Show Proposal
We are calling on the ddr. community (hosts, supporters, members, and friends) to submit a show to be featured for Refugee Week 2026.
Throughout the week, from June 15–21, we will be broadcasting shows that celebrate the resilience and contributions of refugees, featuring shows that tell a story and foster a sense of connection and solidarity with refugees around the globe.
Theme: Courage
This year's theme is Courage. For refugees around the world, courage is often a daily necessity. It is the courage to face unknown journeys, learn new languages, navigate unfamiliar systems, or simply to wake up each morning and step into an uncertain world.
At a time when some seek to divide and blame, Refugee Week 2026 calls us to come together and share the courage to welcome, to stand for what we believe in, and to celebrate culture and community, to be joyful, imagine new possibilities, dream, heal, and connect.
Show Format and Ideas
We are looking for shows which centre refugee and migrant backgrounds (including second-generation). Anyone is welcome to join, however we would like to use this opportunity to platform marginalised voices.
How you decide to use the hour-slot is up to you but some examples include:
- Interviews
- Readings (such as a poem, essay, or short story)
- Podcasts on a topic of interest (such as history, culture, politics, music etc.)
- ‘Talk show’ with two hosts discussing a topic
- A mix or selection of music
- Sound archives and field recordings
The show can be either a 30 minute or 60 minute radio broadcast. Once we have received your submission, we will get in touch about your show. We can’t guarantee a slot at FLUX Studio but we will do our best to accommodate everyone.
How to Get Involved: Submission Details
This submission form will be open until May 20. Pre-recorded shows are expected to be submitted before June 8.
