Queering The Airwaves What does it mean to be Queer online? After marking the 50th anniversary of Dublin Pride last year, it is now time to look to the future. As our physical world becomes ever increasingly intertwined with its online counterpart, so do the Queer lives which inhabit it. Since the early days of chat rooms and forums offering Queer people the chance to connect and explore identities, to the present array of social media, live streaming and messaging apps, the internet has forever changed how Queer people interact and organise. In our current era of hyperconnectivity, surveillance capitalism and digital resistance, it is an important moment to reflect on our digital heritage but also envisage how Queer communities can fit into and shape future digital landscapes.
